Project Extended Until December 16th

The Southdale Line Bridge Rehabilitation project continues into the Fall. Crews have successfully sandblasted all paint and existing coatings off the existing superstructure and recoated the painted superstructure to protect against salt and steel degradation. Throughout this process, RJ Burnside, the Municipality’s Consultant undertook structural inspections of all bare steel for thickness, and condition. Through this process, several small repairs were recommended and out of an abundance of caution the Municipality will undertake these repairs before opening the structure to traffic.
